This is a pleasing 1848 for one's seated quarter quarter collection.
Stars 9 through 13 were rendered lightly, apparently due to a tilted obverse die, evident from the raised rim from 7:00 through 10:00. The coin sports very pleasing surfaces and obvious originality.
A popular variety, the doubled date is quite obvious.
