$0.10 1863-S Seated Liberty Dime 10c - Raw XF / AU
Here is a very attractive, crusty original 1863-S for your collection of Seated Dimes.
Residual mint luster peeks through the thick golden grey toning, especially in the protected areas of the design.
Noted for completeness is an old pin-scratch from the M in DIME to the bow, the severity of which has been softened by 150 years of dirt and toning. Compared to more recent disturbances which do not blend in so well, the grading services seem to be more forgiving of flaws such as this.
Attractive originality such as this is rare, and highly sought after by seasoned collectors.
